The little things
Like tshepo Kapacino said yesterday: ‘It’s the little things, like writing 5 lines of code, that make you feel like you can fly” and so it is with me. As I sat at the beginning of this week thinking of how to improve GEM I wrote up a few key tools that could be implemented and at the bottom of the page I wrote “ wouldn’t it be awesome if I could get a search function so that visitors could search the main site without actually being in the main site thus avoiding clutter” it grew to encompass the ideas it needed to be broad ( site-wide) but exclusive ( only the global edge media site) and be fit into the cartoon-simplified site layout of gemedia’s URL. I though quite hard about it but couldn’t think of any other site besides Google who had done anything similar and so I asked around but to no real solution. This morning I decided to Google around and found Google’s free search box and within 10 min had set it up. A dream comes true on so many fronts.
